On 17th July, the Royal Armouries in Leeds played host to the Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards 2025, a night dedicated to celebrating the very best of the UK’s built environment. The atmosphere was one of energy, innovation, and pride, as leading organisations from across the region came together to recognise excellence in construction. With this year’s theme of “Electric Dreams”, the evening came with an unmistakable 80’s vibe: neon lights, synth pop, and nostalgia in abundance.
ICF Bondmor were proud to feature prominently in the evening, shortlisted for three categories and with their client, D2M3 Ltd, also nominated for Client of the Year. The results proved to be a defining moment for the business, with wins and commendations that showcase the company’s progress and its commitment to driving sustainable, net-zero construction forward.
The Constructing Excellence Awards are among the most prestigious in the industry. Each year they celebrate the projects, companies, and clients who embody the Constructing Excellence principles: collaboration, innovation, sustainability, and positive change across the sector.
The awards process begins regionally, with winners progressing to the national finals in autumn, where the very best of the best from across England and Wales are brought together. The judging panel comprises industry leaders with proven experience in delivering innovation and transformation, ensuring that only the most impactful contributions are recognised.
ICF Bondmor’s Nominations
In addition, their client, D2M3 Ltd, was nominated for Client of the Year, put forward by ICF Bondmor in recognition of their collaborative approach and commitment to delivering sustainable housing on the Rastrick Grammar development.

THE RESULTS
The winning project at Rastrick showcases the future of sustainable housing. Working with local developer and architects Halliday Clark, ICF Bondmor delivered six new homes built with insulated raft foundations and ICF superstructures, completed ahead of schedule on an ambitious eight-week programme.
Although not category winner, Super Brad’s Pad received a special commendation on the evening. The project is a purpose-built respite centre in Scarborough, created by the Bradley Lowery Foundation to provide families of terminally ill children with a place of comfort, dignity, and care.

The Electric Dreams theme brought plenty of 80s fun, but the evening also had a serious purpose. Thanks to the generosity of guests, the event raised just under £2,500 for Maggie’s Yorkshire, a cancer support charity based at St James’s Hospital in Leeds.
Maggie’s provides vital services for people with cancer and their families across the region, offering a space for togetherness, expert guidance, or simply a quiet moment and a cup of tea. Their work makes an enormous difference, and ICF Bondmor were proud to be part of an event that helped support such an important cause.
Winning Residential Development of the Year is more than a trophy — it’s a platform. The Rastrick Grammar School Development will now compete in the Constructing Excellence National Finals this autumn, offering ICF Bondmor the chance to showcase Yorkshire’s best to the rest of the UK.
The company’s strong showing across categories reflects a business that is growing, ambitious, and deeply committed to delivering net-zero, Passivhaus-aligned projects. From multi-plot housing schemes to one-of-a-kind charitable builds, ICF Bondmor continues to prove that sustainable construction can be delivered at pace, without compromise.
We are looking forward to the nationals later this year, and wish all in the finals good luck and congratulations on their award-winning work to date.
