Timber Frame Insulated Raft Foundation.

Timber Frame Insulated Raft Foundation.

OVERVIEW

On the Beverley Road project, we completed two insulated raft foundations totalling 205 m² within a 15-day timeframe, maintaining a clean and well-organised site throughout. The precision of our excavation work, involving 720 tonnes of earth, alongside the use of high-quality materials such as 140 tonnes of type 1 MOT, 40 tonnes of sand blinding, and 5 tonnes of reinforcement, ensured a solid and durable foundation. The ICF system, renowned for its insulation and structural integrity, was crucial in this process, providing an energy-efficient substructure that seamlessly supported the timber frame construction above.

The ICF system is an ideal choice for substructures in these types of builds, offering excellent insulation properties alongside the required strength to support the superstructure. It ensures the building maintains a continuous insulated envelope, improving energy efficiency from the ground up.

ICF integrates effortlessly with MMCs such as timber frame and SIPS methods, making it particularly well-suited for modern, sustainable developments like Beverley Road.

The 42 m³ of self-consolidating concrete, combined with 80 metres of insulated ring beams, provided a robust, highly efficient base essential for the building’s performance and longevity. Our focus on site cleanliness and the efficient use of materials kept the project running smoothly while upholding the highest standards expected in a luxury development.
